AN INVITATION FROM JESUS

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

THE HEART OF OUR FAITH

Love came near.
Hope is still here.

We believe the good news begins with God’s love and leads us to new life in Jesus Christ.

God came among us.

Christians believe that Jesus is God the Son who became truly human. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, revealing God’s grace and truth. He came to seek and save the lost, and to serve and give His life as a ransom.

John 1:1–14Luke 19:10Mark 10:45

The cross.
The resurrection.

Jesus was crucified between two criminals at Calvary. Matthew records that the temple curtain was torn, the earth shook, and rocks split. We believe that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose on the third day, as proclaimed in Scripture.

Luke 23:33Matthew 27:511 Corinthians 15:3–4

His presence.
His promise.

Acts describes Jesus ascending into heaven. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit, and Acts records the Spirit’s coming at Pentecost. We believe those who hear the gospel and believe in Christ are sealed with the promised Holy Spirit—God’s presence with His people.

Acts 1:9–11John 14:16–17Acts 2:1–4Ephesians 1:13–14

A PERSONAL RESPONSE

You can begin
with faith.

Scripture calls us to confess Jesus as Lord and believe that God raised Him from the dead. If you are exploring faith, bring your questions. We invite you to worship with us and speak with Reverend Mack.

HONEST QUESTIONS. THOUGHTFUL ANSWERS.

Faith &
history.

We value careful reading of Scripture and honest discussion about what historical evidence can tell us.

What about the 500 witnesses?

In 1 Corinthians 15:6, Paul reports that the risen Jesus appeared to more than 500 people at once. This is biblical testimony preserved in Paul’s letter; it is not a collection of 500 independently preserved eyewitness statements.

What does archaeology show?

Finds such as the inscription naming Pontius Pilate help establish the historical setting of the New Testament. Such artifacts do not, by themselves, prove Jesus’ divinity or resurrection. Those are central claims of Christian faith.

Was Jesus a historical person?

Historical study draws on early Christian texts and references in ancient writers such as Tacitus and Josephus. Scholars widely recognize Jesus as a historical person. Establishing that a person lived is different from establishing every theological claim about that person.

What do the three crosses represent?

Luke 23:33 describes Jesus crucified with a criminal on either side. Our artwork draws on that account and Matthew’s description of split rocks. It is an artistic interpretation, rather than an archaeological reconstruction.
